The pan-European Stoxx 600 (STOXX) held steady at +0.05% with sectors trading in mixed territory as investors remain in wait-and-see mode, after a muted session on Monday. Mining stocks led gains, while banks dipped. European Central Bank policymaker Francois Villeroy de Galhau said on Monday that the central bank’s interest rates have reached a plateau where they will likely remain for the next few quarters, Reuters reported.
In the bond market, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield was down 3 basis points at 4.40%.
Germany’s 10-year yield was down 4 basis points to 2.58%.
U.K.’s 10-year yield was down 3 basis points to 4.10%.
Coming up in the session: BOE policymakers will be testifying in parliament at 1015 GMT, on monetary policy, inflation, and the UK economic outlook. Investors will also scan Canada’s inflation data later in the day.
