U.S. existing-home sales drop in October to lowest level since 2010

The numbers: Existing-home sales fell 4.1% in October to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 3.79 million, the National Association of Realtors said Tuesday. Sales are down 14.6% from a year ago.

Economists polled by MarketWatch had projected existing-home sales to come in at a 3.9 million rate.
